EMCSR 2000 General Information
The University of Vienna is one of the oldest European universities,
founded in 1365, and has been a leading institution of scientific
teaching and research ever since. The present university staff
consists of 432 "ordentlichen" and "außerordentlichen Professoren" and
2,943 "Assistenten", and appr. 94,000 students are enrolled in its
faculties. The main building (Dr.Karl Lueger-Ring 1, 1st district)
houses the rector's and the deans' offices, the university library,
lecturing rooms and departments. The majority of departments is
located in other buildings.
CONFERENCE DESK
The Conference Desk on the first floor will be at your service on
Tuesday from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., on Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. to
5:30 p.m., on Thursday from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8.30
a.m. to 5.00 p.m. for registration and information. It can be
reached by telephone (4277-14518) during these hours. You may also
contact members of the Organizing Committee for help and information.
BADGES
You are kindly asked to wear your badge all through the Conference to
identify as a Congress participant, because the university building is
open to the public.
MAIL
Participants to whom mail has been addressed c/o Secretariat of the
EMCSR 2000 may collect it at the Information Desk. They will find
their names listed on the Notice Board.
REFRESHMENTS
Coffee will be available free of charge at the registration office
during the coffee breaks. Other refreshments can be bought in the
university building (look for "Buffet"). A list of restaurants and
coffee shops close to the university is available at the Information
Desk.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
Monday, 24 April 2000, 5.30 p.m. - 9 p.m., informal reception by the
Council of the Austrian Society for Cybernetic Studies, in their rooms
at Schottengasse 3, first floor, in the first district.
Friday, 28 April 2000, at 8 p.m. invitation to a "Heurigen" by
Dr.Michael Häupl, the Mayor of Vienna, and by the Austrian Society for
Cybernetic Studies. Special invitations will be available at the
registration desk on Thursday, April 27.
FEES
The conference fee (ATS 3,500.- for payment received by April 14, 2000,
ATS 4,200.- for payment at the registration desk) includes participation
in the Fifteenth European Meeting, attendance at the reception and the
Heurigen, and the volumes of the proceedings.

proceedings is included in the conference fee.
